ADS-Tec StoraXe Battery

Note
Note

This integration monitors ADS-Tec StoraXe modular battery containers via Modbus TCP on the SmartgridOne Controller. It provides read-only telemetry; curtailment and dispatch are not supported.

Wiring

  • Connect the StoraXe controller (or site gateway) to the LAN with an RJ45 Ethernet cable.
  • Ensure TCP port 502 is open between the ADS-Tec controller and the SmartgridOne Controller.
  • Follow the Ethernet wiring best practices.

The driver addresses Modbus Unit ID 1. Leave the controller at this default; other IDs are ignored.

Configuration

  1. Power up the StoraXe controller and connect it to the site LAN.
  2. Reserve or note the controller’s IP address so it remains reachable.
  3. In the SmartgridOne Controller UI, open Devices → Add device.
  4. Select Modbus TCP, enter the StoraXe IP address, keep the unit ID at 1, and click Scan.
  5. Choose “ADS-Tec StoraXe” when it appears and press Add.

Driver notes

  • Device discovery relies on the StoraXe toggle bit (input register 6) alternating between 0 and 1. Keep this diagnostic register enabled; disabling it will prevent the integration from finding the system.
  • The controller reads the serial number from registers 203–207. If those fields are blank, the integration falls back to a generated identifier.
