Connection

The communication between the SmartgridOne Controller and the Schneider charging station takes place via Modbus TCP.

  1. Connect the charging station to the same local network (LAN) as the Controller using an Ethernet cable.
  2. For correct ethernet wiring standards, follow the guidelines for ethernet wiring.

Configuration

To allow the SmartgridOne Controller to control the station, you must enable Modbus TCP via the eSetup for Electrician app or the charger's web interface.

  1. Log in to the charger using the eSetup app.
  2. Go to the Network settings and assign a Static IP address to the charger. This ensures the Controller can always find it.
  3. Go to Communication (or Backend) settings.
  4. Set Modbus TCP to Enable.
  5. Ensure the Port is set to 502.
  6. Save the settings and reboot the charger if prompted.
Warning
Warning

Make sure the Modbus Slave ID is set to 1 (or between 1 and 247). The default address is usually 1 or 255.

Adding to the Controller

  1. Go to the SmartgridOne Controller web interface.
  2. Navigate to Devices > Add Device.
  3. Select Schneider > Modbus TCP.
  4. Enter the IP Address you configured in the charger.
  5. Enter Port 502.
  6. Click Scan.
