Anschluss
Die Kommunikation zwischen dem SmartgridOne und dem Energiezähler erfolgt über einen RS-485-Serienbus oder Modbus TCP.
Für optimale Leistung wird empfohlen, geschirmte Kabel mit verdrillten Adern zu verwenden. Für kurze Entfernungen kann ein verdrilltes Adernpaar aus einem Netzwerkkabel (mindestens CAT5e) verwendet werden.
Es gelten folgende Richtlinien:
- Maximale Entfernung: Die Gesamtlänge des Kabels, einschließlich Hauptkabel und Abzweigungen, ist auf 100 Meter begrenzt.
- Anschluss mehrerer Energiezähler: Das Kabel sollte von Zähler zu Zähler in Reihe geschaltet oder vom Hauptkabel abgezweigt werden (Abzweigungen dürfen 1 Meter nicht überschreiten).
- Lange Entfernungen: Es wird empfohlen, am Ende des Hauptkabels einen 120Ω Abschlusswiderstand zu installieren und den Abschlusswiderstand am SmartgridOne Controller zu aktivieren.

- There is no general consensus in the industry about the usage of A and B for the RS485 polarity, so it may be counterintuitive and opposite of what you might expect for some devices.

Warnung
NOTE: RS485 Device Addresses
- You MUST give each device on the RS485 bus a unique address. Check the manual of the device on how to do this.
- Use lower addresses first (1, 2, ...) because the SmartgridOne Controller will find them faster!
- For each device, it is generally recommended to stick with the factory default baud rate, parity, and stop bits. The SmartgridOne Controller will scan on those first.
