Eniris Pulse‑based Water Meters

Eniris

Supported Devices

The integration is intended for any water meter that offers a clean pulse output (normally‑open or normally‑closed contact). Typical examples are the popular ZENNER, Itron, Kamstrup, or Sensus models equipped with pulse modules – but any dry‑contact 1 pulse = x l counter will work.

Device Type
Generic pulse water meter

Wiring

Pulses are read via the digital input (DIA/DIB) of the Controller or Smart Grid Controller. Wire the meter’s open‑collector or reed switch as illustrated below:

Pulse wiring
  • Polarity does not matter for dry contacts.* Use twisted pair cable for long distances (> 10 m) to minimise interference.

Configuration in the Eniris Portal

  1. Add a new device and select “Generic Digital Input → Water Meter”.
  2. Choose the digital input (DIA or DIB) you have connected the meter to.
  3. Enter the pulses per m³ (e.g. 1000 pulses/m³ for many domestic meters).
  4. Save — the driver will immediately start logging cumulative consumption and flow‑rate.

Tip : If you see negative deltas, invert the wiring or change the input logic from normally‑open to normally‑closed in the device settings.

All metrics are stored in the waterMeterMetrics measurement and retained with 1 s resolution by default.

Troubleshooting

  • No data? Check that the contact actually toggles using a multimeter or LED tester, and verify the correct digital input is selected.
  • Erratic pulses? Add a 1 kΩ pull‑up resistor or enable the built‑in pull‑up in the controller.
  • Flow too high/low? Confirm the pulses per m³ factor from the meter datasheet.
