Overview

The FTP Push feature enables your SMA Sunny WebBox to automatically upload inverter data to Eniris' monitoring platform. This integration allows for seamless data collection and monitoring of your solar installation's performance.

Prerequisites

Before starting the configuration, ensure you have:

  • SMA Sunny WebBox with firmware version 1.5 or higher
  • Network (LAN) cable for physical connection
  • Computer with web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge recommended)
  • Network access with Port 21 unblocked for FTP communication
  • Eniris FTP credentials (contact support if you don't have these)

Network Requirements

Your network must allow outbound FTP traffic on Port 21. If you're using a firewall, ensure it's configured to allow connections to ftp2.eniris.be.

Connection Setup

  1. Physical Connection

    • Locate the network port on your Sunny WebBox

    Key Name Reference

When configuring the SMA FTP integration, the system uses specific key naming patterns to identify different device types and data sources. Understanding these patterns can help with troubleshooting and configuration:

    Installation Level Keys

    • Sunny WebBox: Use "Sunny WebBox" or leave empty ("")

    Inverter Level Keys

The system recognizes inverter data using any of these key name patterns:

    • Keys matching pattern: \d+_SN.* (digits followed by underscore and "SN")
    • Keys matching pattern: ^.{2}-INV.* (two characters, dash, then "INV")
    • Keys starting with (case-insensitive):
      • sn
      • stp
      • wrt
      • wr
      • omv
      • inv
      • core
      • bb omv
      • modbus-
      • ond

    Weather Station Keys

    • Weather Station: Use "weerstation"

    Key Naming

These key patterns are automatically recognized by the system. Ensure your device names in the SMA WebBox follow these conventions for proper data mapping and monitoring.

    Verification Steps

    After configuration:

    1. Wait 15 minutes for initial data push
    2. Check your Eniris dashboard for new data
    3. Verify that power and energy values are updating
    4. Monitor for any connection errors

    Troubleshooting

    If you encounter issues:

    Connection Failures

    • Verify network cable connection
    • Check if Port 21 is open in your firewall
    • Confirm FTP credentials are entered correctly
    • Ensure WebBox has internet access

    Data Not Appearing

    • Verify the WebBox time is set correctly
    • Check if data export formats are enabled
    • Wait up to 30 minutes for first data push
    • Look for error messages in WebBox logs

    Error Messages

    • "Connection refused": Check network and firewall settings
    • "Authentication failed": Verify FTP credentials
    • "Timeout": Check internet connection stability

    Important Notes

    • Keep your FTP credentials secure
    • Regular monitoring of the connection status is recommended
    • Update WebBox firmware if you experience persistent issues
    • Contact Eniris support if problems persist after troubleshooting

    Support

    If you need assistance:

    • Contact Eniris support with your WebBox serial number
    • Have your network configuration details ready
    • Include any error messages you've encountered
    • Provide timestamps of when issues occurred
