Solis

The SmartgridOne Controller support the Solis grid-tied and hybrid inverters product lines. Both lines use a seperate communication protocol. Before we continue, we need to know in which product line your inverter is in.

Understanding the difference between inverter types

Go to the official Solis website. Lookup your model in either the 'Hybrid & Off Grid Inverters' or 'Grid Tie Inverters' section, marked by the blue arrows in the image below.

Solis Inverter

If your model is not listed under the 'Hybrid & Off Grid Inverters' on the Solis website, open both the Hybrid and Off-grid line and Grid-tied line pages to see if your model is listed in either section.

Grid-tied Line:

  • Only-solar inverters that convert DC power from solar panels to AC power
  • Only work when grid power is available
  • No battery storage capability

Hybrid Line:

  • Hybrid inverters that can work with both solar panels and batteries
  • Can store excess solar energy in batteries
  • Choose this if you have (or plan to have) battery storage
